Why does JESS need a Business Advisory Council (BAC)?
    * To provide expertise and training for best practices in community employment
    * To keep JESS abreast of local business trends.
    * To act as an advocate by promoting and educating area businesses about the value of JESS         services and the individuals JESS serves.
    * To provide feedback on marketing efforts targeting area businesses.
    * To generate employment opportunities and job retention for individuals with intellectual and         developmental disabilities through job leads offered by BAC members.
    * A creative way to meet corporate / community action goals
    * Develop a social enterprise component to generate additional revenue

How will BAC help consumers?
    * Remove barriers to hiring persons with developmental disabilities
    * Develop and expand business networks to educate and raise awareness for hiring persons         with developmental disabilities
    * Bring employers and workers together to discuss the abilities and capabilities of persons         with developmental disabilities
    * Improve the quality of natural supports for persons with developmental disabilities
    * BAC members can conduct mock interviews, provide job leads, and educate other employers         on the benefits of hiring individuals with disabilities through regularly scheduled         developmental disability/disability awareness seminars
    * Reduce the stigma that people with developmental disabilities cannot work

Who should be members of the BAC?
