In St. Louis County, JESS is the Lead Agency for the Summer Work Experience Program (SWEP). SWEP is a program sponsored by the Productive Living Board with services provided by Supported Employment Agencies. SWEP provides a job coach to support students at each job training site. SWEP 2008 will be employing 175 students this summer.
Dates Hours Wages
June 9, 2008 - August 1, 2008 20 hours per week $4.50 an hour
Must work the entire 8-weeks- Schedule to be set by employer This is a training wage funded through the Productive Living Board

To qualify, a participant:

Must live in St. Louis County.
Must be registered with St. Louis Regional Center. (To register, call 340-6500).
Must be committed to working the entire eight-weeks of the program.
Must be 16 years or older and returning to school in the fall of 2008.
Must want to work.
Must have transportation provided by the parent or guardian. (Call-A-Ride, public transportation, car pools, etc.).
Cannot participate in the Extended School Year Program (ESYP).
Must be able to work with 4-5 others with one job coach to supervise.
